“Father of Rock-n-Roll” Chuck Berry dies at 90

One of the originators of rock and roll, Chuck Berry, has passed away at age 90.

Berry died in his home with loved ones.  St. Charles County, Missouri medical emergency team attempted to revive Berry before he passed Saturday, March 18, according to police. On Berry’s verified Facebook page a statement about his death was released.

“We are deeply saddened to announce that Chuck Berry – beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather – passed away at his home today at the age of 90. Though his health had deteriorated recently, he spent his last days at home surrounded by the love of his family and friends. The Berry Family asks that you respect their privacy during this difficult time,” Berry’s post read.

This past October Berry said he was planning to release his first album in 38 years titled “Chuck.”
