NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves unveiled a new look to compliment what they say will be a new era for Minnesota basketball.
Timberwolves organization unveiled their new logo going forward during their final home game of the 2016-17 NBA season at Target Center. The arena will go into renovations this summer. With reconstruction already being done outside the venue, the organization has been planning early on this season redesigning their logo, team color palette and jerseys for next season when Nike becomes the official brand of the NBA.
Without further a due the team’s new logo was revealed Tuesday, April 11.
With the Timberwolves missing the playoffs for the 13th consecutive season the organization is eyeing a shift where the team will be more competitive going forward with their young roster headlined by the 2015-16 NBA Rookie of the Year Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, the 2014-15 NBA Rookie of the Year.
A playoff a appearance next season would be their first since the 2004-05 season when Kevin Garnett won the league’s MVP and led the ‘Wolves to the Western Conference Finals, the deepest playoff run in the team’s history.
