5 Must See Australian Beaches

When I was 9 years old, my parents decided that my family was going to pack up our Gold Coast beach life and travel around Australia in a caravan for a year. Well, this turned into a 3 year adventure and now it is my official duty to report to you my top 5 Must See Australian Beaches (in no particular order).

Whitehaven Beach, located on Whitsunday Island (just off the coast of Airlie Beach, North Queensland) has made it onto many top 10 beach lists throughout the internet and when visiting, it’s obvious to see why. If you don’t want to see a beautiful white beach with sand so pure you can make glass, then do not, I repeat DO NOT visit Whitehaven Beach.

2. Burleigh Beach, QLD

I may be a little biased when I add this one, but Burleigh Beach, located on the Gold Coast, South East Queensland, is a must see for any surfer or those wanting to experience a city-beach culture. Take a stroll along the esplanade, take a dip in the waves or enjoy a meal right on the beach. There’s something for everyone here.

3. Cable Beach, WA

Cable Beach, located in Broome, North Western Australia, will give you an experience like no other. Ride a camel along the beach with a fire-red sunset as your backdrop or enjoy a picnic as you watch the sun go down. Whatever you do, just the know the view will be incredible!

4. Wharton Beach, WA

If you’re looking for a relaxing, picturesque beach… then Wharton Beach, located in Cape Le Grand near Esperance, Western Australia is the place for you! It is the perfect place to spend a day with just a book, BBQ lunch, folding chair and beach umbrella, and of course your swimmers!

5. Little Beach, WA

Little beach, located in Albany, Western Australia, was recently voted in the top 5 of Australia’s Top Secret Sports and it’s obvious to see why. The white sand, turquoise water and green headlands are perfect for landscape photographers or those wanting a quiet, hidden beach to spend the day.

I hope you have enjoyed learning about some new beaches and have added them to your bucket list! I know I’m super keen to get back to some of these places and take some beautiful photos. Please note, the last 3 photos are NOT photos of the actual location but very similar, so, I encourage you to Google these places for actual photos.
