Brooklyn Nine-nine (2013-present) is a classic intelligent sitcom that not enough people are talking about. Although the show is primarily comedic, it touches on important and relevant social issues in a serious tone.
I am currently a paralegal and I do believe in justice and innocent until proven guilty. That does not mean that our judicial system is set up to help women.
A hashtag brought awareness to an issue that already had existed for centuries. This isn't the beginning of an era. People are slightly more aware of how pervasive the issue is. That's it.
Rape scenes in particular have no place in a show. I will defend this opinion from both an artistic standpoint and a social perspective.
